I am an experienced and qualified Green Badge Tour Guide and I really enjoy showing people round glorious Oxford and sharing its colourful history and traditions with visitors of all ages.


I especially love Inspectors Morse, Lewis and of course Endeavour tours where we will discover the locations of murder, mystery and intrigue. Or join me for a tour to see the locations of films with Oxford as backdrop such as Harry Potter, or hear about famous writers such as Lewis Carroll or C.S Lewis.

HEIDI BOON-RICKARD

I have been in the travel industry for over 20 years and have been fortunate to travel all over the world. I've been a tour guide in the Netherlands and a holiday representative in Turkey. My work has taken me to America, Canada and Australia.

 

I trained as a Green badge guide in Oxford and I love discovering its secrets and sharing them with the groups I guide. As well as the general tour I offer specialist tours including Inspector Morse, Film sites, Harry Potter, Gargoyles and Grotesques, Literary Oxford, Downton Abbey and Bampton, and of course Alice in Wonderland.

ELIZABETH HUDSON EVANS

I have been working as a professional Guide in Oxford for 11years. I was born and brought up in Scotland. Previously I was an actress working mostly in the theatre,including London's West End, but gave it up to bring up my five children. I love Oxford ,and now live nearby in the Cotswolds.


I love guiding and meet so many interesting people from all over the world. I particularly enjoy guiding young people. I am very happy to take prospective students and give them an insight to being a student at Oxford.

SALLY JENKINS

I studied Modern Languages at Cambridge University, then moved to Oxford, where I trained as a Blue Badge Guide.  I have been guiding in this lovely city for many years, and also work as a tour manager overseas.

I offer tours in French and Spanish as well as English.  In addition to general tours, I offer tours with an emphasis on children’s literature, Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter, C S Lewis and J R R Tolkien, film sites, science, literature and Inspector Morse.

ALASTAIR LACK

I was an undergraduate at University College Oxford where I read history.  I then had a career at the BBC, mainly working for the World Service.  My wife and I moved to Oxford in 2001 when I became Head of Oxford University Alumni Office.

 

I then qualified as a Green Badge Guide for Oxford and the University.  I enjoy leading a variety of walking tours which combine my knowledge of Town and Gown and my enthusiasm for history.

BRIAN LOWE

I was born in Watlington, Oxfordshire, and educated at Lord Williams Grammar School, Thame, Oxfordshire.  I spent my professional life as a photographer, firstly in the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, followed by a career in industrial, commercial photography & film making in Oxford’s automotive industry, before spending 10 years creating audio-visual presentations,  and finally moving to sales & marketing in the same field.  

 

On retirement I trained as an Oxford Green Badge Guide, and have enjoyed this occupation for the past 11 years. My other interests are local history, reading, walking, photography, seagoing travel and bellringing.

WILLIAM UNDERHILL

A graduate of Oxford University, I returned to live in the city ten years ago and qualified as a city guide in 2011. 

Although a journalist by background, I am a historian by inclination and have written extensively on a wide range of historical subjects. 

My aim is to provide a lively introduction to the city suitable for visitors of all ages that will entertain as much as inform.

I am an experienced multilingual Blue Badge Guide and the author of the Oxford Plaques Guide, a book that highlights the stories behind the city’s myriad plaques.
