I have lived in Oxford for 17 years. I am a mother of four children so can relate to adults and young people alike and provide a tour which is fun and interesting for any age.
I am incredibly excited by the history of Oxford, the way its buildings and places tell us stories or people who lived here a long time ago, whose spaces we still share. Being German my viewpoint of the city, its history and life today are sometimes a bit different to someone who spent all their life here. I am a walking tour guide because I just love to share my passion for Oxford with those who come to visit!

Oxford is a magical city. Magnificent buildings, glimpses through doorways, the majesty of colleges spanning 800 years. Let me be your guide to the history of the city and its university, exploring it through the eyes of an astonishing cast of characters who have wandered the very paths and pavements before you.
Along the way, we’ll also frequent the haunts of beloved fictional characters, from Lyra Belacqua to Harry Potter, from Inspector Morse to Lewis and Endeavour. And then there are those – like Alice Liddell, inspiration for Alice in Wonderland – who transcend the real to inhabit the richer realms of fiction.
As an accredited member of the Oxford Guild of Guides (and possessor of their much coveted Green Badge), I will be happy to tailor your tour to your wishes as far as possible.
I also do two specialist tours that have been approved by the Oxford Guild of Guides:
Phillip Pullman - Lyra's Oxford – this includes all the books that make up His Dark Materials and The Book of Dust. We can't travel to Svalbard and Bolvanger, but we can glimpse the characters as they move around the city and its buildings. The story of religion in Oxford – from martyrdom to Methodism

As an Oxford resident and Green Badge guide I've been welcoming people to the city of dreaming spires for the last three years. I’ve found that exploring the University at a relaxed pace allows everyone to soak up the atmosphere of the famous colleges and gardens, while learning about the traditions, and the fascinating stories of students and fellows, past and present.
Often I lead specialist tours such as the Oxford of CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien, and the history of science and medicine at the University. I take many student groups but also families, societies, and prospective Oxford students. I like tailoring a tour for the needs of my clients, and usually include a recommendation for the best taverns or restaurants for refreshment afterwards!
Now qualified as a Blue Badge guide for the Heart of England, I enjoy guiding on trips beyond Oxford to the Cotswolds, Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and many other attractions in the region.
